2010 New Year’s Message

January 27, 2010

As many Jamaicans contemplate the year ahead, fully aware of the challenges we will face as it relates the state of our economy and the impending tax hikes, we should not neglect the fact that each second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year is gift. 2010 sees not only Jamaica's economy facing challenges but the entire world.

For all the doom predicted for 2009 the world began to slowly but surely recover from the economic difficulties that appeared in 2008.In 2009 technology companies realizing the need to offer cost effective solutions to clients not only developed solutions but also made them accessible from the internet, thus reducing the clients need to procure additional infrastructure.

I believe more than ever that in 2010 I.T. companies will have the attention of clients seeking to streamline business operations, in a bid to become leaner and meaner. Therefore the I.T. companies that are innovative enough to deliver cost effective solutions with the shortest time to market will be very successful.

Point and Case, Cloud computing is gaining more traction as companies realize that not only do they want to reduce cost of infrastructure, but also reduce the day to day management and maintenance that surrounds implementing new solutions. This is a trend that I think is sustainable and can prove to be a stable income earner for medium size and upstart I.T. companies.

Out of every crisis comes opportunity and for those who weathered the storms of 2008 and 2009, 2010 has lots of opportunity to offer.

Ladies and gentlemen I give to you 2010.
